High School Mission Trip - July 10-17, 2010

Our high school trip this summer is to Tampa where we will work with Team Effort in the migrant farm worker community.  This population is usually undocumented workers, who speak little to no English and are easily taken advantage of.  Our primary responsibility will be working with the children of these families.  We will work with a VBS as well as odd jobs as needed.  TeamEffort's website is www.teameffort.org.

From TeamEffort website – Youth will “reach out to serve migrant families through home repair and continued renovations at the migrant mission center. Groups will also have the opportunity to reach migrant children through Children’s Outreach Programs and local neighborhoods. We will continue other ministries such as outreach to the deaf through home repair and improvements, as well as service to adults with special needs through hands-on projects at a community center that cares for them.”

The total cost of this trip is $485, before fundraising allocations.

Adult participants for the trip are Janet Cothron, Will Crunk and Cathy McCall.
